First Mount Zion Baptist Church Deaconess Ministry shall:
1. Be faithful in attending worship services, prayer service, Bible Study,
Sunday School, and Leadership training.
2. Be faithful in the giving of tithes and offerings.
3. Cooperate with the Pastor and the Deacons Ministry in executing the FMZ Zone Fellowship Ministry.
4. Minister to the sick, needy, and distressed members of the Church.
5. Assist in the preparation of all female candidates for baptism.
6. Assist in the preparation of all baptismal linen and gowns.
7. Prepare the Lord's Table for Communion; to include maintenance of
communion supplies.
8. Assist the Pastor in the administration of the ordinances.
9. Teach, exhort and counsel the women and children of the church.
10. Manifest full cooperation with church leadership and support church
approved programs.
11. Be steadfast in the work of personal evangelism.
12. Direct the Journey to Joy Ministry (Widow’s Ministry).
13. Cooperate with the Pastor and Deacons in providing ministers to speak as required.
14. In the absence of the Pastor, in cooperation with the Deacon Ministry provide ministers as required.
In addition, the Deaconess Ministry has oversight of the following:
Greeters Committee; Journey to Joy; Social Committee; Willing Workers and Zone Ministry.
