Pastor
The Pastor is the Church Shepherd responsible with ultimate responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the ministry. The
Pastor preaches the gospel, administers ordinances, watches over the membership, and is responsible for the spiritual welfare of the congregation. The Pastor serves as an ex-officio member of all boards, committees, auxiliaries, organizations and ministries of the church. Leads all church business meetings, except when the business affects the Pastor personally. Regularly meets with leadership. Leads, teaches and trains the ministerial staff. Serves as the Senior Manager responsible for overseeing staff activities. Nurtures the staff in fulfilling the mission and vision of the church.
Assistant Pastor
The Assistant Pastor provides support to the Senior Pastor in
caring for the congregation, administering ordinances, watching over the membership and responsible for the spiritual welfare of the congregation. Prepares for and conducts bible study. Provides biblical counseling to church members. Provides oversight and training to the ministerial staff.
Church Administrator (CA)
The Church Administrator is responsible for church operations. This includes ultimate responsibility and accountability for food service,
fitness center, facilities/property, financial, procurement, asset, risk
assessment/insurance, safety, security, human resources,
information technology, events, records and fleet
Management. Responsible for policy and procedure
Management, community care, and servant mobilization.
Supervises Facility Manager, Food Service Director,
Fitness Center Director, Information Systems Manager,
Financial Secretary and Receptionist.
Minister of Music
Responsible for the Musical and Fine Arts Department. Supports worship service through the ministry of music and dance. Responsible for ensuring quality presentations by the Mass Choir, Women’s Choir, Men’s Choir, Voices of Zion, Jewels, Dance Team, Jewels of Praise Team, Musicians, Drama Team and Deaf Ministry. Responsible for musical workshop and productions. Ensures presentations are technically, theologically and theoretically sound.
Minister of Christian
Education (MCE) Serves as the congregation’s educational specialist to implement holistic educational ministry that is doctrinally, theologically, and biblically sound that is relevant to the needs and demographics of the congregation. Works with the Pastor and Assistant Pastor to strategically develop ministry goals, objectives, key performance measures and outcomes for the Christian Education Department (CED). Provides advice and direction on curriculum selection and design and program development for all CED ministries. Recruits, selects, trains, develops, nurtures, ministers to and manages a large group of servants. In addition to overseeing servants, the Minister
of Education directly supervises the Youth Minister and Senior’s Activity Coordinator staff positions. Develops, manages and submits the CED budget.
Youth Minister
Oversees the Youth Ministry which consists of grades
6-12. Encourages youth to grow spiritually by building
relationships, and
empowering them to use their abilities and talents
in service to celebrate God. Provides retreat, conference,
and ministry opportunities for our youth.
Small Groups Ministry
Director Designs, develops and implements the Small
Groups Program which provides an atmosphere conducive
for spiritual growth and for members to have a relationship
with one another. Leads the program to
provide a place for relational Christian fellowship,
and to reach out to people who do not know the Lord
Jesus Christ. Provides support for spiritual growth
and a safe environment where members can speak freely
in groups of 4 to 10 individuals.
Information Technology
Manager Responsible for all FMZBC information technology
needs. This includes database management, system
troubleshooting and
telecommunications management.
Facility Manager
Plans and directs a comprehensive programs for the
operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement of the First Mount Zion Baptist Church
Campus operations and maintenance (O&M) programs.
This includes, but is not limited to, security and
housekeeping of all church building, grounds, equipment,
furniture, communications, safety, space utilization/configuration,
and fleet/vehicles management. Ensures the building
is in compliance will all county, state and federal
laws such as the Americans With Disabilities Act,
OSHA, and Fire Regulations. Develops, implements
and manages a safety program. Maintains custody
of keys. Receives equipment and furniture shipments.
Supervises facility assistants and contractor services.
Assistant Facility Manager
Supports the Facility
Manager in managing, operating, maintaining, repairing
and improving the First Mount Zion Baptist Church
Campus operations and maintenance (O&M) programs.
Custodial Technician
Responsible for day porter and/or night porter cleaning
services
throughout the First Mount Zion Baptist Church Campus.
Audio Visual and Media Director
The Audio Visual and Media Director is responsible
for the operation and execution of audio visual
and ministry aspects of ministry. Develops policies,
procedures and rules governing the operation and
use of audio visual and media.
Food Service Director
Responsible for the operation and execution of the
Grain of Heaven.
Oversees daily food service operations. Establishes
and maintains systems and procedures for the ordering,
receiving, storing,
preparing and serving of food and related products,
as well as menu
planning and development. Forecasts sales and expenses.
Ensures requirements for appropriate sanitation
and safety levels are met. Conducts inventory. Writes
procedures; keeps procedural manuals up to date;
compiles data for reports; conducts QA surveys
and inspections; develops plan of corrective action
accordingly. Supports ministry needs and special
events. Establishes and maintains
effective member and vendor client relationships.
Develops, nurtures,
ministers to and manages a group of servants. In
addition to overseeing
servants, the Food Service Directordirectly supervises
the Food Service Manager staff positions. Develops,
manages and submits the Grain of Heaven budget.
Food Service Manager
Performs shift
work to support the Food Service Director in leading
servant worker activities to provide
daily food service and addressing the congregations’
needs. Assists in
training servants.
Fitness Director
Manages the Fitness Center and Gymnasium complex
known as “Fit
By God”. Develops policies, procedures and
rules governing the operation and use of the fitness
complex. Creates and develops
fitness programs appropriate for all congregational
members including
children and senior citizens. Presents fitness and
health related seminars. Teach group exercise classes.
Performs fitness testing and takes body measurements
for fitness assessments. Develops, nurtures, ministers
to and manages fitness center servants.
Executive Assistant
Provides high-level administrative support to the
Pastor. Schedules,
tracks, and organizes the Pastor’sdaily activities;
coordinating special
projects; serving as the resource and point-of-contact
for answering
general questions, planning activities, meetings
and other events.
Prepares correspondence reports, and coordinates
administrative
processes as necessary. Under the direction of the
Pastor,
communicates with members of leadership, the congregation
and
representatives of high level public officials on
confidential and sensitive
matters.
Administrative Assistant
Provides administrative support to the Assistant
Pastor and Minister of
Christian Education. Prepares agendas and materials
for the Assistant Pastor and Christian Education
Department (CED) meetings. Assembles documentation
for the Assistant Pastor’s sermons and speeches.Prepares
bulletin for Children’s Church and bible study
handouts. Processes requests for the newsletter,
workshop booklets, associate minister preaching
schedules and CED monthly calendar event.
Financial Secretary
Posts contributions and produces
balance sheets and income/expense reports. Reconciles
the financial system. Prepares checks to pay bills.
Prepares member contribution reports. Inputs payroll.
Receptionist
Serves as the
first point of contact for members and guests and
is responsible for all front-desk
administrative support duties. This includes: welcoming
visitors; answering incoming telephone calls; preparing
the church bulletin and
announcement publications; participates in space
allocation decision for ministry requests made via
a Building Use Request Form; managing an internet-based
church calendar; managing the mail and providing
administrative support to the Minister of Music.
Serves as the backup for the Executive Assistant
(Church Secretary).
